New Assistant Director Announced
We are excited to announce that Sarah Bent has been hired as the new Assistant Director for Mathematics Leadership Programs. In this capacity, she will oversee the Master of Arts in Mathematics Teaching program and support the professional learning programs for K-8 math teachers locally and nationally.
Prior to joining the PaGE team, Sarah was a third and fourth grade teacher at New Hingham Regional Elementary School in Chesterfield, MA. She also worked as a visiting instructor for both the Master of Arts in Teaching and Master of Arts in Mathematics Teaching programs here at Mount Holyoke College and was also an adjunct faculty member at Westfield State University.
She recently served as a collaborating teacher for a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded research project, “Using Routines as a Strategy for Developing Elementary Students’ Conception of Proof.” Videos of Sarah’s classroom teaching have been used around the country for professional learning.
Sarah brings a wide range of knowledge, skills, and expertise in K-8 mathematics education and we look forward working with her.
