Application process

Every applicant to the Mathematics Leadership Programs Summer Institutes should complete the entire application form. The application form can be downloaded. Directions for mailing the completed application packet are on the application.

If applying to more than one institute, be sure the invoice information sheet references the appropriate institutes. The invoice information will be used to generate the bill for MLP program fees. No application will be considered until all of the information requested is received.

Applications are expected in the Mathematics Leadership Programs office by May 24, 2013.

Acceptance letters will be sent out as applications are received.

In order to assure placement in the preferred sections of the MLP institutes, early applications are encouraged.

The acceptance process will continue until the programs are fully subscribed. Invoices will be sent at the same time as acceptance letters. Acceptance is provisional until receipt of payment.

Attending MLP Institutes as a Team
Sites are encouraged to send teams of participants. Teams may include educators with different roles and responsibilities at their home site. Each site should consider which of the sections will serve their need. Teams may be composed of applicants in any of the sections.

Each team should identify a team organizer, who may or may not attend the institute, to serve as a contact for the site.

Team Organizers should:

  • collect the application forms from all members of the team
  • verify that the information on the invoice page is correct
  • complete the Team Cover Sheet describing the make-up of the team
  • send this material as a single package to Mathematics Leadership Programs: SummerMath for Teachers, Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, MA  01075-1441.

Refunds
Any applicant accepted into the program will be charged the program fee. Refunds will be offered only if the applicant’s place in the program can be filled by another educator at the same site or through the MLP wait list.
